DreadTober 2024: Week 2

Hi folks,

It is hard to believe that the first half of the challenge is already over. I have been lucky enough to have some holidays, so I have been chipping away at the paint scheme on my Dreadnought quite steadily. Let's take a look at how everyone has been going!

Name: XarfaiEngel

Project: Howling Griffons Chaplain Dreadnought Titus (with the option of another Blood Angels Dreadnought as a stretch goal!)
Blog: https://abutterflyshobbytally.blogspot.com/
Instagram: @xarfaiengel

XarfaiEngel's Chaplain Dreadnought is already looking menacing. The oil wash/weathering has grim/darked the hell out of it. Work has also begun the bonus Blood Angels Dreadnought and a bunch of Legions Imperialis Dreadnoughts; check out the blog for some extras shots!

Project: ultramarines Dreadnought

We are still waiting on some progress from Neverness; here's a teaser!

Project: Imperial Knight

The paint job has begun on this lance wielding giant. I love the glowing effect on the shield and the detail on the base!

Name: Sachiel
Project: Ork Mekka-Dread.
Blog: https://sachiel-returns.blogspot.com/

Sachiel has a really cool process for achieving this vibrant rust effect. There is a long way to go and a lot of darker washes to lay down, but this Mekka-Dread is shaping up nicely.

Name: Tom
Project: Salamanders Dreadnought
Instagram: @university_dave

Tom has done some lovely work cleaning up this eBay rescue. The foundation is there for a wonderful finish on this model.

Name: DAM
Project: Blades of Vengeance Invictus Warsuit
Blog: https://262krieg.blogspot.com/
Instagram: @262_krieg

DAM is pushing ahead really well with the warsuit. The base colours are all down and the decals are in place ready for weathering.

Name: Dave Weston
Project: Norn Emissary/Assimilator [and 2 Genestealer Cult Sentinels]
Blog: 40kaddict.uk

Dave has been adding some lighter highlights to his Norn Emissary. I always love reading the process used to complete this paint scheme; it's like a rich bolognaise sauce 😄 Check out Dave's blog to enjoy more of the hearty goodness. Oh, and that cultist sentinel driver is a little champion!

Name: Agis
Project: Domitar battle automata
Blog: https://agis40k.blogspot.com/

Thing is the project that keeps on giving, and not necessarily is a good way. Agis continues to face unexpected challenges as DreadTober 2024 rolls out, but is taking them in stride. Check out the blog for the full story.

Name: Wachtmeister
Project: Dark Angels Dreadnought
Blog: http://wachtmeisterspatrol.com/

Wachtmeister has chosen the path of glory and is going to attempt to complete both* Dreadnoughts for the challenge. Such brazen bodacity!!

*[thinly veiled peer pressure 😁]

Name: jabberjabber
Project: Leviathan Dreadnought
Blog: https://warpstoneflux.blogspot.com/

Another Dreadnought which is shaping up really nicely, even in the early stages of the challenge. The main colours are down and it just about ready for decals and details.

Name: Marc
Project: Blood Angels Death Company Dreadnought
Blog: http://oldschoolg4m1ng.blogspot.com/
Instagram: @m4cr0dutch

As for me, I have been chipping away at the edge of my paint job while I wait for some decals to arrive. I have been adding a couple of little free-hand details here and there, just for funsies. The next stage for me will be the (all important) sarcophagus!

See you next week everyone! Good luck!!
