DreadTober 2022 Week 3: Drop Dread Fred

 

Hi folks,

The end is drawing nigh, I can feel it in my Ushabti bones. Week 3 is the penultimate week of progress, when most people start to panic just a little bit, because we feel that time is getting away from us (by "most people" I mostly mean "me"...). 

Whether you have nearly finished your project, or you are hoping to snatch victory from the claws of defeat, I salute you. Let's take a look at what we managed this week!

With some decals and oils in place, this dread is just waiting to dry before it gets hit with some highlights. Not far to go now!

It is great to see some detail being added to this massive Dreadmob. With all those checker patterns, it is going to be a challenge to get them all done by the deadline (...dreadline?), but we all believe in you Sachiel. Keep going!!

With some extra colour added using old school pigments (they don't make them like they used to) and Fenrisian Grey highlights, this ancient one looks like he will stride over the finish line with no problems.

I have spent a lot of time this week doing weathering on the white armour of my Deathwing Redemptor. It is pretty nerve wracking painting something clean white and then blobbing all over it! Everything seems to be taking twice as long as I have predicted, which really makes me wonder if I can get it finished in time...

I will begin assembling the final post on the 1st of November, so the final deadline is midnight on the 31st of October.  I will probably spread the completed projects across two posts again, so that I can spend some extra time selecting and uploading additional photographs for each model. I will also include the progress of people who did not complete the challenge; every bit of progress is a victory!
