DreadTober 2026: Week 3

Hi folks,

We have just passed the halfway point of the challenge; 18 days down and 13 to go! We are reaching the stage where some people have nearly finished their projects, whilst others are still trying to get the ball rolling. Let's take a look at what everybody has been up to and, as always, if you see something you like, please consider making a connection with our fellow hobbyists.

Dr. The Viking says that he has been washing his Dreadnought; why does it feel so... impure...?

Name: Tom
Project: Epicast Ork Stompa

This is coming along smashingly. I love the black flames on the chainsword; classic 2nd Ed.

Now, when Dawe title this project "Parkouring Dreadnought" I had some idea of what it may look like. But it wasn't this. WOW!

Name: Julien
Project: 2nd ed. Boxnaught

Julien has been tackling the large amount of detail on this Space Wolves Dreadnought like a pro. It is looking terrific so far.

Some solid progress from jabberjabber. The main layers are down, leaving it ready for washes and details.

Name: Agis
Project: First Legion Deredeo Dreadnought
Blog: https://agis40k.blogspot.com/

Agis has added some beautiful detail to this Deredeo. The weathering is very well done, as we would come to expect. A masterclass in hobby painting.

Name: Sachiel.
Project: Dark Angels Venerable Castra-Ferrum Dreadnaught.
Blog: https://sachiel-returns.blogspot.com/?m=0

Sachiel has been working on the upper assemblies of the project, including some free hand details. I really like the paint scheme that has been chosen, it visually quite interesting and different to other Dark Angels schemes. As a person who has been painting Dark Angels for over 30 years, it is so good to see something different.

Name: Neverness
Project: Ultramarines Ballistus Dreadnought
Blog: https://nevernesshobby.blogspot.com
Bluesky:‪@neverness92.bsky.social‬

It sounds like Neverness has had a bit of a rough week on the hobby-front. Real life just takes priority sometimes. Nevertheless, progress was made, with some Ultramarines highlights added to give a stipled effect.

Name: Chris

XarfaiEngel is inching towards completion of this ethereal Eldar Dreadnought. Only a couple of steps to go...

Project: Rogue Trader Contemptor and Space Marine Boxnaught
Crown of Command Discord

Real life intervened for TJM this week. Best wishes!

Name: OzMonster
Project: Tau Riptide

OzMonster has a couple of small details to work on to complete his Riptide. There is a distinct imbalance of progress in my household at the moment; Oz has started working on his bonus project whilst I am bumbling along trying to get my act together!

Name: M4cr0Dutch
Project: Blood Angels Castraferrum Dreadnought
Blog: https://oldschoolg4m1ng.blogspot.com/
Instagram: @m4cr0dutch
Bluesky: @m4cr0dutch.bsky.social

I finally finished construction of my project late in the week. This involved adding the lightning claw parts to the "Bjorn" arm and clipping and sculpting the wolf muzzle to make it look more feline (for a leopard pelt). It doesn't look very Bloody Angel-like at the moment; I am hoping that the paint job will help sell that idea. Ultimately, I am trying to pay tribute to this classic artwork by John Blanche.

That's it for this week. If I have missed your progress shots, please let me know in the comments and I will edit the post.
